How we work together
No two people are the same, and therapy shouldn’t be either.
At Exceptionally You, I believe therapy should adapt to the person rather than expecting the person to adapt to therapy.
Sessions are grounded in evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed strategies, while remaining flexible to the way you naturally think, communicate, connect, and learn.
Depending on your goals and preferences, therapy may involve conversation, reflection, creativity, shared experiences, play, or therapeutic gaming approaches where these support engagement and therapeutic outcomes.
Counselling and Therapy:
Supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating:
Trauma and adversity
Neurodivergence
Burnout and overwhelm
Identity and self-understanding
Emotional regulation
Parenting challenges
Life transitions and complexity
My work is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and collaborative, with a focus on helping people to understand themselves more clearly and live in ways that feel more aligned with who they are.
Parent Support
Parenting neurodivergent children often means navigating systems, advocacy, uncertainty, and competing needs while trying to hold onto your own wellbeing.
I offer support for parents seeking:
Understanding of neurodivergence
Support with regulation and behaviour through a neurodivergent-affirming lens
Strategies that align with your family’s values
Space to reflect on the emotional experience of parenting
As both a clinician and neurodivergent parent, I understand that supporting the whole system matters.
Reflective Superversion
Thoughtful, reflective supervision for practitioners interested in trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming practice. Supervision can provide space to:
Think deeply about clinical work
Explore uncertainty and complexity
Develop confidence and professional identity
Reflect on neurodivergent-affirming approaches
